Will my scooter or power wheelchair fit in my home?

Most of the time, yes.  We’ll measure your hallways and your doorways in order to ensure ease of use for a scooter or power wheelchair.  If you have narrow doorways we’ll make a recommendation based upon your needs.  If you have standard-sized hallways and doorways you can count on ease-of-use within your home.  Power wheelchairs can turn on a dime.  They have a turning radius of approximately 20 inches.  Scooters have a slightly larger turning radius of approximately 42 inches.
We’ll always take the necessary precautions to make sure that you’ll be able to enjoy full use of your medical equipment within your home.

How do I qualify for a scooter or power wheelchair?

There are over three hundred qualifying factors that enable you to get a scooter or power wheelchair at little or no cost to you.  The simple answer is that if you have a mobility limitation, you can qualify.  We’ll help you define that limitation and make sure that you know if, or exactly how much, you’ll have to pay out of pocket.

Will my insurance pay for my medical equipment?

If you have Medicare and a private insurance carrier, you will be covered.  If you have Medicare coverage and a qualified claim, they will cover 80% of the total.  In many cases our clients choose to pay for their medical equipment up front and then we do all of the paperwork in order to get them reimbursed.  If you choose to pay for your equipment up front you can have your medical equipment in a matter of days.  If you choose to have us bill your insurance it can take up to 30 days to receive your medical equipment.

How much will it cost me?

If you are covered by private insurance and Medicare it won’t cost you anything.  If you are covered by Medicare they will cover 80% of your total cost.  In some cases you may have to cover the additional 20%.  If we get you approved and Medicare doesn’t reimburse your claim, we’ll pay for your scooter or power wheelchair.

Are all scooters or power wheelchairs the same?

No!!!  There are literally hundreds of options that make your scooter or power wheelchair specific to your mobility needs.  Just like a tailor measures specific portions of your body to make a suit, we measure you to ensure a proper fit for your mobility device.  If anyone ever tries to convince you that one size fits all, don’t believe them.

How is Access Medical different from other medical supply companies?
